What Average Do You Need for Rotman Commerce?

Short answer: the mid to high 80s is the stated minimum, and the class sits higher. Rotman Commerce says "an overall average of all grade 11 and 12 courses in the mid-high 80s or above is recommended", OUInfo lists the program in the mid to high 80s, and in Fall 2022, 83.6% of UofT's business entrants from Ontario high schools came in at 90 or above.

Rotman says: an overall average in the mid-high 80s or above, plus the supplemental application[1][2]

The Numbers

85-8915%
80-841.3%

Required Grade 12 Courses

Only two named courses, and Rotman says "special attention will be given to MCV4U, as it is a prerequisite for admission." MHF4U isn't on the list, but MCV4U requires it before or alongside, so it is in your top 6 whether Rotman names it or not.

The supplemental application

Every applicant completes Rotman's own supplemental application on top of OUAC: brief written and video responses, considered alongside your academic record. Rotman recommends submitting it by December 1 so you are considered in the earlier rounds.

Rotman's own framing of who gets in: "our students are generally in the top 5% of their class." The supplemental application is where you show what that looks like outside a transcript.

What these numbers mean for you

Mid-high 80s is a minimum Rotman recommends, not an average of who got in. The CUDO table is UofT's commerce group: 37.8% at 95+, 45.8% at 90 to 94, 15.0% at 85 to 89 and 1.3% at 80 to 84. The entering average was 93.0.

So an 87 meets the stated bar and sits with the 16% at the bottom of the class, where the supplemental application carries more of the decision. CUDO reports by group, so this is UofT's commerce entrants, not Rotman on its own.
