What MCV4U Covers

MCV4U (Calculus and Vectors) is a two-part course in the Ontario Grade 12 math curriculum:

Calculus

Limits, continuity, derivatives of polynomial and sinusoidal functions, derivative rules (product, quotient, chain), applications of derivatives including optimization and related rates.

Vectors

Geometric and algebraic vectors in two and three dimensions, dot product, cross product, equations of lines and planes.

Why MCV4U Is Important

Calculus and Vectors is required for most university programs in engineering, computer science, physical sciences, and mathematics. Many Ontario universities use MCV4U as a prerequisite or strongly recommended course for competitive STEM admissions. The calculus portion introduces concepts you'll use throughout university, and the vectors portion is foundational for physics and engineering. Strong preparation in MCV4U gives you a significant advantage in first-year university math courses.

Currently Available

While MCV4U is in development, MCR3U (Grade 11 Functions) is available now, with a full unit review covering every concept before the practice tests begin.
